Henry Taylor 1/2″ #5 Straight Gouge

Gouges are the most used tools in carving. Larger sizes can remove a lot of wood while smaller sizes can be used for fine detail. These gouges are straight along their length. They are sized by the width and the amount of curve (sweep) of the tool. The #3 is almost flat while the #11 is very curved.
